ITINERARY: 17 DAYS
Day 1: Amsterdam/Delhi
We take a connecting flight KLM 871 at 1105 hrs Amsterdam to Delhi, India. We arrive in Delhi International Airport at 2330 hrs, Welcome & assistance by Vivek Mohan Sharma director ANF India. Then transfer to Hotel Saptagiri, New Delhi. Overnight at hotel. (Meals Aloft)
Day 2: Delhi /Jabalpur/Kanha Tiger Reserve
After breakfast transfer to Delhi airport to board in Kingfisher flight Delhi / Jabalpur at 10:00/11:35 hrs. After arrival at Jabalpur Airport we’ll drive to Kanha Tiger Reserve (5 hrs drive/ 250 kms) arriving in the late afternoon check in Safari Lodge Kanha, Mukki gate. (B, L, D)
Day 3/4: Kanha Tiger Reserve
We enjoy morning and afternoon wildlife excursions in the park by open Jeep and elephant back and between our wildlife viewing trips into the park we will have an opportunity to visit local schools, take guided nature walks, watch the elephants bathing or if you prefer just relax around the lodge. We will spend three nights at Safari Lodge Kanha, Mukki gate. (B, L, D Daily)
Day 5: Kanha Tiger Reserve/ Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve
After breakfast we drive to the Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve. En-route we’ll visit local markets, villages and stop in the sleepy town of Mandla (sacred city for Gond tribals) where the Narmada river, second holiest to the Ganges, is the center of activity. Temples and ghats line the banks of the river. Upon arrival by early evening check in ANF Environmental Education Center and Eco Lodge, Bandhavgarh, we will spend seven nights at Eco lodge, Bandhavgarh. (B, L, D)
Day 6/11: Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve
We enjoy morning and afternoon wildlife excursions daily. Wildlife viewing is by open four-wheel drive vehicle and possibly from the back of an elephant. During our nights at ANF Environmental Education Center and Eco Lodge, Bandhavgarh, we will enjoy stargazing and cooking revelation. (B, L, D Daily)
Day 12: Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve/ Khajuraho
After breakfast we take a morning drive to Khajuraho passing through the villages and countryside of Madhya Pradesh. Arriving at Khajuraho check in Hotel Ramada. Afternoon visit to Khajuraho temples. Temples built by Chandela rulers in the 9th and 10th century AD. Variety of many inspirational temples, including exuberant and erotic carvings superb examples of Indo-Aryan architecture celebrating the pleasures of life and the sublime joy of love. Dinner and overnight in Hotel Ramada. (B, L, D)
Day 13: Khajuraho/ Agra
After Lunch at 1200hrs we drive to Jhansi Railway Station and board the Shatabdi Express # 2001 at 17:56 to Agra. On arrival Agra, we check in the Hotel Utkarsh Vilas. We'll have dinner and overnight in this hotel. (B, L, D)
Day 14: Agra
An early morning snack with tea helps us to get awake as we will move to see the famous UNESCO World Heritage Monument Taj Mahal early in the morning to catch the sunrise and also contemplate all the color changes of Taj Mahal’s white marble due to reflection happening during sun rise. We also explore Agra Fort which is another UNESCO World Heritage Monument of red sand stone built by third Mughal Emperor Akbar in 1565. Return to hotel for Lunch followed by late afternoon visit to local market, Dinner in ANF INDIA office. Over night stay in hotel. (B, L, D)
Day 15: Agra / Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary via Fatehpur Sikri
Following breakfast we'll drive to Bharatpur, stopping en route at Fatehpur Sikri (Victory City), a UNESCO world Heritage Monument. After visiting Fatehpur Sikri, drive for Bharatpur which is about 55 minutes. On arrival in Bharatpur we transfer to our Hotel Udai Vilas Palace. Afternoon excursion into the Keoladeo Bird Sanctuary. Overnight stay in hotel. (B, L, D)
Day 16: Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary/ Delhi
We have morning excursions to the great Keoladeo Bird Sanctuary. After lunch we drive for 5 hrs to Delhi, stopping en route for drinks at the gardens of Country Inn, Kosi. Arriving Delhi in the late afternoon to check in at Hotel Saptagiri, Near International Air port, New Delhi for wash & fresh. Following our special farewell dinner at this hotel we transfer to the airport for the international flight check-in. (B, L, D)
Day 17: En Route /Amsterdam
Meet our connecting flight KLM 0872 at 1.40 hrs. from Delhi to Amsterdam (Netherlands) arrival at 5.55 hrs. (Meals Aloft)
